House of Hydrangeas

It's that time again, time to celebrate my birthday!  I'm already feeling very loved today, and it's not even noon.  Even with the hubby being out of country, I don't feel alone thanks to all of the sweet cards, messages and gifts from friends and family.  I'm thankful to be celebrating another year of life and to look back on all of the blessings I've received over the past 28 years.  It's truly a great day! Here I am back in the day celebrating my 3rd birthday with my Rainbow Brite cake.  I LOVED her as a child.  Now, 25 years later, my hair is less curly (thanks to Chi) and I've grown a bit, but life is still good.  Look at my sis trying to help me blow out the candles.  She's always been there for me. Speaking of my sis, I went to visit her and her family this weekend to celebrate the Baptisms of my nephews.  It was a wonderful moment to witness.  Here's Mer and her cute little family.  Cohen wore the same Christening...

It's hard to believe my birthday is only a week from today.  Where has another year gone?  I'm not one to be super big on celebrating birthdays - there is never a monthly countdown and week long celebration here.  But it is nice to feel extra loved and special one day out of the year, right?  And a few presents never hurt anyone either.  Here are a few things on my wish list this year... 1.   Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera .  I've been looking for a new point and shoot to carry with me when I don't want to take my big Canon, and this one quickly won out.  After seeing hundreds of reviews on multiple sites, I knew this Lumix was the way to go.  And the price tag wasn't so bad either. I can't wait for this to arrive! 2.  My next project at the house is going to be sprucing up our lania...starting with adding a rug to make the space feel more like a room than a concrete porch.  I love this one by Martha Stewart. 3.  Wha...
