Our living room is slowly but surely coming together.  The biggest To Do's are ordering a new media console, painting the room (which is unfortunately open to the dining room, kitchen, office and breakfast area which means lots of painting to be done!), order a few lamps and a console for the long wall behind the couch. I realize I haven't shared any pictures of our "new" house (we moved in at the end of last October) with you guys.  So here's a glimpse of the living room before we moved in. It's no secret that I love the color green.  I'm always drawn to it when it comes to decor, and I even used it as one of the main colors in my wedding. I don't know what it is about green, but it just makes me happy.  And as far as decor goes, I think it's a pretty versatile color to use throughout your home.  In fact, I love it so that I think my next couch will be green.  Perhaps even green velvet.  I mean, seriously isn't this delicious? Here's one being sold by Urban Outfitters .  And another sold by Home Furniture Showroom . Perhaps I'd pair it with a rug like this . And pillows like this and this .   Although, I must say, I really like this rug too.    And of course I'm still smitten for this table. Oh the possibilites are endless!

I mentioned a few weeks back that I was hoping to return from our trip to Dallas on Memorial Day weekend with a new piece of furniture.  As you may have guessed from my lack of posting on said piece of furniture, the deal didn't go down. While doing my usual browsing on Craigslist, I came upon a beautiful leather ottoman that I thought would be perfect as our new coffee table.  You all know I've been searching and analyzing over finding a new coffee table for some time now.  Well when I saw this one, I thought I had found my answer!  And with a price tag of just $100 (the cheapest I'd found prior was $300), it was a gift from above! I thought the color and nailhead trim were just what the coffee table doctor ordered.  Unfortunately, the deals you can find on Craigslist are often counteracted by the difficulty of communicating with the seller.  The problem in this case was the seller's slow response to all of my inquiries.  He said I would be able to...
