House of Hydrangeas

These rooms make my pattern-loving heart skip a beat.  If you want a designer look in your home, try using lots of pattern.  Don't be afraid!  Just make sure they aren't all big and bold patterns.  A good balance is needed. Orange and blue can make for a nice color combination when they're done in the right hues.  Take this room for instance.  I'd throw this image into my pile of "great fall rooms." The burnt orange tufted headboard, dark wood tone furniture and of course the plaid fabric give great warmth to the space offsetting the cool, white bedding and lamp.  Balance, balance, balance.  It's all about balance.  And layering.  Just look at how wonderfully the different patterns are woven together in the space? Chevron, stripes, greek key and plaid...swoon.  I wish it was mine.  How about you?
