Valentine's Day is fast approaching.  And that means so is the gift giving.  Personally, I'm all about the small, thoughtful gifts rather than the cliche, over-the-top ones.  I'm not a big fan of red roses, stuffed animals or chocolates.  I'd much rather have something along these lines...all of which are under $25 dollars.  Boys, pay attention!  And girls, send your boys this link ;)  1.   Pinwheel Press  personalized note cards- $16 for 8 Being the stationery lover that I am, it might be a shock to you that I have none with my new (10 months)  married name.  So these would make a perfect gift!  Especially since they come in this chevron pattern that I love.  Pinwheel Press has a ton of really cute designs with multiple colors from which to choose.  You'll have a hard time just picking one!   2.   Anthropologie's  Ikat Bowls- $8   Another favorite pattern of mine is ikat.  I could have it on...

Orange and blue can make for a nice color combination when they're done in the right hues.  Take this room for instance.  I'd throw this image into my pile of "great fall rooms." The burnt orange tufted headboard, dark wood tone furniture and of course the plaid fabric give great warmth to the space offsetting the cool, white bedding and lamp.  Balance, balance, balance.  It's all about balance.  And layering.  Just look at how wonderfully the different patterns are woven together in the space? Chevron, stripes, greek key and plaid...swoon.  I wish it was mine.  How about you?
