The One Who Hears It

Last night as I was lying in bed, I began thinking about all of my recent prayers requests.  In the last week or so it seems there has been a prevalent amount of pain, suffering, uncertainty, worry and loss in the lives of family, friends and even strangers around the world.  You can't tune into the news without hearing of some senseless killing.  Disease and death are taking over lives.  Thoughts of the unknown are too scary to fathom.  My heart aches for each new story I hear, and each fear I harbor inside myself.  Yesterday I even found myself in tears after reading another sad Facebook status.  While I know the amped up pregnancy hormones aren't helping, I think I would mourn for the loss and unknown regardless.  This world can be a sad and scary place.  But it can also be beautiful.
