What's in My Bag-LBD Outfit

Here's a look at one of my recent purchases from Piperlime .  I love this site because of their free shipping and free returns.  You can't go wrong with that!  Here's what I put in my bag.  I didn't buy all of the items as an outfit, but upon arrival, I saw how great of a team they'd make :)  And it helps that I saved 20% on all of them with a promo code.  I love Piperlime! (And no they didn't give me anything to write this.) 1- The little black dress.  Business in the front.  Party in the back. 2- You had me at fringe...and statement necklace.  I'm a sucker for a good statement necklace. 3- The perfect dressy black sandal, complete with a gold zipper in the back.

What I'm Wearing

I'm getting in the football spirit with my outfit today.  Jon and I will be heading up to Tuscaloosa for the Bama game this weekend, so I decided to start channeling my team spirit on my errand run this morning.  Plus, I wanted to try out my new comfy flats I got for my New York trip!  Sorry for the poor picture quality, but I had difficulty getting the whole outfit with my SLR. Top- Urban Outfitters  (one of my favotie go-to tops)/ Jeans- Target / Shoes-Anne Klein iflex via TJ Maxx/ Purse-TJ Maxx/ Necklace- Danielle Stevens / Ring-David Yurman/ Watch- Michael Kors Here are the items (or a close match) on a board so you can get a better look.  Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Four Years

Four years ago on this day, I met my husband for the very first time.  And as the old adage goes, "the rest was history ."  Jon and I married a year and a half later and have been on a fun, crazy ride ever since.  So in honor of the day we said "I do" and the recent Emmy's, let's do a little dress comparison, shall we?   When I first saw Julie Bowen's dress, and her whole look really, I was wowed.  The styling, color and design were right up my alley.  So much so, that her dress reminded me of my own wedding dress (the design, not the color).   Here is Julie looking stunning on the red carpet at the Emmy's. (Side note:  If you don't watch Modern Family, you're really missing out.) And here are a few side-by-side comparisons of my Watters wedding gown and her Monique Lhuillier gown.  I know the price tag doesn't even begin to compare, but the silhouette definitely reminded me of my own.  Obviously, I have more junk in the t...

Five Things

{Wow.  Hanging floral halos and crisp white tables.} {Dipped treats with bows--simple and cute.} {Everything about this space is amazing.} {Tickle Me Francey by OPI...my new go-to fall color.} {Speaking of fall...it has arrived at our house!...well, at least indoors :) } Happy Friday!

What I'm Wearing

I don't typically do a lot of fashion posts on here.  In fact, I think I've only shared personal outfits on here once .  But when I did, it seemed to get a good response so I thought I'd start start posting some of my daily outfits on here from time to time.  After all, everyone needs a little fashion in their life right? :) Here's what I wore to go run some errands the other day.  {Excuse the cheesy grin.  I hate taking pictures of myself} One of the things on my "to do" for the day was going to the grocery store.  I hate going to the grocery store for many reasons, but one of them is that it's always so cold in there...hence the rolled up skinny  jeans in lieu of shorts. Dress Up

Trying to pack and plan outfits for my trip to Charleston...even at this age, I still love playing dress up. :) I hope you guys enjoyed yesterday's post on the inside view of our wedding .  The hubby and I had a great anniversary yesterday.  We even tried out a new restaurant near our place that was such a nice surprise!  It just may be our new favorite!

Wedding Shoes With a Nautical Twist

I'm not sure if it's my recent trip to the beach, my infatuation with  nautical stripes or my upcoming weddings that has me loving these shoes, but whatever it is, I do! Evie Peep-Toe Pumps by J. Crew I think these pumps would make the most adorable wedding shoes for anyone getting hitched by the sea. They are the perfect "something blue" and the nautical stripe adds such an unexpected surprise under the wedding gown. Seriously, how cute would these be in wedding photos?

Five Things Friday - Part 5

I got to Skype with my sis and little Cohen last weekend, but this weekend I'm excited because I get to see them in person!  I'm visiting to watch my other nephew's first T-ball game.  I can only imagine how adorable all of those kiddos are going to look out there on the field. I've had this bouquet sitting on my desktop for quite some time and have neglected to share it with you guys.  Now that spring is almost in full bloom, I think it's appropriate.  The colors are so cheerful, and the pom pom ribbon tied around the stem is so fun and unexpected. I want to have an area like this in our next house.  I think it's a much more efficient use of the space right off the kitchen, don't you?  I'd rather dine all of the time in my formal dining room anyway :) This lace cardigan is my latest purchase.  I think it will work great for this spring/summer weather, and I looove the pattern and texture.  I ordered it from Forever 21 online.  I hope i...

Five Things Friday-Part 3

Hello friends! I hope you're having a nice end to your work week.  If not, maybe these five things will cheer you up :) 1.  Sweet wedding tablescape.  I love the muted tones and vintage pieces used in this tablescape.  It is so soft and romantic.  I bet you have a newfound appreciation for all of those brass candlesticks you see at the thrift store now, don't you? :) 2.  Herringbone throw.  I ordered this herringbone throw from Pure Fiber after seeing it on the Today show's Steals and Deals segment a couple of weeks ago.  I'm still waiting on it to come in, but the wait is well worth the deal.  I've been swooning over these throws for a long time but didn't want to shell out the $100+ for one.  Mine ended up costing me $44 (shipping and tax included)!   3.  A well designed nursery.  If you follow the House of Hydrangeas Facebook page , you know that I've been working on a nursery board for a new client this week. ...
