When I think of people who work from home, I think of the beautiful office spaces they can create for themselves.  I often try to imagine what my dream office would entail, and the latest vision is of a crisp, clean space with lots of pretty things to inspire me...a nod to the classic with a twist on the coastal.  Yeah, I think I'd be pretty happy here. Today, I'm so happy to finally share with you guys the nursery board I've been working on the last couple of weeks.  When Aimee and Joe first contacted me a few weeks ago to see if I could help them put together a nursery design for their first baby, due in July, I was more than thrilled.  Lucky for me, they already had great taste and some ideas for a jumping off point.  When they informed me that they really liked my style, shown in my other design boards , I knew we'd make a great team.  They were very active in the whole design process, which made my job much easier. The first thing I did was come up with a layout for the room.  The room being used for their nursery was a large size for their 1960's house at 18'5" x 11'5".  Therefore, proper furniture placement was a big issue.  Aimee and Joe didn't want the room to look too barren with just a chair and crib and needed help finding the right pieces to fill the space.  After some brainstormin...

I've admitted my problem before, and I have to say yes, I'm still obsessed with all things weddings.  Here's my latest dream.  Natural Love. Jon had a great birthday yesterday.  He loved his gifts and my very first double layer cake I made for him!  But more on all of that tomorrow.  Today I want to show you a vintage modern nursery design board I've been working on.   My favorite rooms always have contrasting elements in them.  Sometimes too much of something can be a bad thing.  You have to mix it up!  Whether it be materials or periods of style, I think the most beautiful rooms have an effortless juxtaposition to them.  In this nursery I achieved that in several ways--through the use of varying materials, colors, patterns and furniture pieces.   One of my favorite things about this design is the use of pink AND navy fabrics.  Who said navy couldn't be used in a little girl's nursery?  The two colors balance each other out and add a sophistication to the room without making it over the top girly. {click to enlarge} I love it all came together and how each piece pla...

I was recently contacted by a friend to help her get a jumpstart on decorating her knitting room.  There were three priorities to keep in mind: 1.  A bulletin board where she could hang patterns and ideas for knitting projects.   2.  A place to display her balls of yarn.  It was important for her to be able to see it (so she could know what all she had) and to be able to access it easily. 3.  A pair of comfortable chairs (she already owns one she wants to reupholster) so I needed to find one that would be a good match.   Here is how the room currently looks...
