The latest issue of Ivy & Piper featured some beautiful spaced designed by Liz Caan.  Liz Caan Interiors is located in Newton, Massachusetts, and even their storefront is amazing.  I usually don't share rooms by designers unless I am inspired by a lot of work in their portfolio.  Liz is one of those people.  Let's take a look. Isn't the outside of her studio gorgeous?  That awning... *drool* Here is the inside of her design studio.  Wouldn't you love to work here?  I know I would! And look at this charming bedroom.  I have these black and white pillows, and I see them featured everywhere!  (Guess where they're from... Target! circa 2007) This master bedroom is so sophisticated- a traditional space with just the right amount of contemporary elements. This little boy's room is so sweet.  I love the open storage and streamlined upholstered headboard... and the striped walls.  Don't get me started on the striped walls. ...

I've been cleaning out my grandmother's dresser for the better part of the day, and I'm still not quite done. It's almost like I'm on my own little treasure hunt, and so far I've come across some great finds.   I found lots of vintage jewelry, lockets, pocket watches, antique embroidered napkins, vintage perfumes (a bottle of the Gucci No. 3 - one just sold on Ebay for $100!), tons of silk scarves, my grandmother's NRA (National Rifle Association) marksman badge (go Mow-Mow), old photographs, a WWII U.S. military compass, and all sorts of other finds.  My mom will go through everything I've organized once she gets home from work.  In the meantime, I thought I'd share a few inspiring designs with you by the talented Mr. Jarlath Mellett.  Mellett, who was previously the Director of Design at Brooks Brothers, is now a full-time interior design in New York City and even has his own boutique shop in the Hamptons.  His style is immaculate, and it has l...

This isn't my typical Friday Finds where I post on some good steals.  Instead, today I'm bringing you some inspirational finds that made me saying "ooooh! aaahhh!"  You know, because everyone needs a little ooh and ahhing on Fridays. Built-in shelves have somewhat become the norm in newly manufactured homes.  But by giving them a coat of black paint, you can make them look custom and captivating.  They are a great contrast to the white mantel and cabinets and better showcase the homeowner's collections when painted a bolder color. Amanda Nisbet is a designer who loves to use color and knows how to do it well.  This entry way is a perfect example of that.  My favorite color is periwinkle and that fabric is to die for so naturally I'm drawn toward the entry table.  Of course the double front doors and winding staircase don't hurt either.
