Orange and Blue Bedroom

Orange and blue can make for a nice color combination when they're done in the right hues.  Take this room for instance.  I'd throw this image into my pile of "great fall rooms." The burnt orange tufted headboard, dark wood tone furniture and of course the plaid fabric give great warmth to the space offsetting the cool, white bedding and lamp.  Balance, balance, balance.  It's all about balance.  And layering.  Just look at how wonderfully the different patterns are woven together in the space? Chevron, stripes, greek key and plaid...swoon.  I wish it was mine.  How about you?

Fall Rooms

Fall is in the air, well close enough for me anyway.  It's my favorite season, so I tend to start celebrating it before most people.   I love the smells of fall, the cool breezes, the excuse to wear coats and boots, the football games, the fires, the pumpkins, the colors of the falling leaves.  It all makes me so happy. My thought is, if you love the changes going on outside so much, why not bring them into your home as well?  And no, I don't mean putting pumpkins and leaves everywhere inside your house.  It only takes changing a few things to get your house Autumn ready.  Here are a few rooms that say "fall" to me.  Maybe they will inspire you to find ways to make your home feel like fall as well. This room is filled with warmth-from the orange and green pillows, to the rich wood tones to the glowing fireplace.  Doesn't it look like a place you'd like to rest on cool fall day?
