Progress in the Man Cave

Well, a lot has been going on over here.  I've been prepping for our gender reveal party (which is a week from this Saturday!) while the man cave and guest rooms in our home have been getting some makeovers. The guest room and nursery are getting crown molding installed (we had it in our room and the dining room but not the three guest rooms for some reason), and the man cave is also getting board and batten where the bamboo used to be.  Bamboo, you say?  Let me remind you of how beautiful this room used to be.  Metallic gold paint up top and sheets of bamboo on the bottom.  Just not for me. I dreamed of a cozy and clean space that would be manly and classic... and a place for Jon to put all of his currently boxed up military memorabilia.  Charcoal Slate paint from Benjamin Moore was just what I envisioned, and the white board and batten that will run along the bottom will add some architecture while keeping the room from being too dark. Let's Paint!

While I loved a lot about our home before we bought it, there was one thing that I knew I would be changing after moving in--the paint colors!  All three guest rooms and our master bathroom will be getting new coats of paint, as well as the open living room that I mentioned yesterday. And last but not least on the "to paint" list is our master bath.  It's a little hard to tell in this picture, but the walls are actually faux finished in a sage green over a beige.  The faux has to go. So here's what I'm thinking for the new ...

New Additions!

Our new tufted ottoman  coffee table came in a couple of weeks ago, and I still haven't shown you guys.  Shame on me!  It is so lovely, spacious and comfortable--everything we wanted.   I couldn't be happier! You can see a little bit of my new  Craigslist dresser in this one.  I'll post more pictures of that tomorrow! To give you a little perspective, here is the before picture of the space with our old ottoman. And here's the after.

A Look Inside Our New Home

We got all of our stuff delivered on Monday and have been working on conquering all of the boxes ever since. We are still not done, but since so many of you have asked to see the inside, I thought I'd give you a preview of our new home sans our belongings.  More to come soon!
